Since 1994, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Oregon has been providing one-to-one mentoring for youth. Big Brothers Big Sisters, a program of J Bar J Youth Services, is the only one-to-one mentoring program in Central Oregon to provide careful screening, training, matching, support, and supervision of caring mentors with youth. The youth in our program, often from single-parent families, are between the ages of 6-15 and all need some additional support, guidance, and individual attention. Each youth and mentor spend time together sharing quality time and fun activities.

Volunteers serve as friends, mentors and role models, helping children (who are primarily from single-parent homes) gain greater self-confidence. "Bigs" encourage their "Littles" to realize their potential and see themselves as having happy and successful futures.
