W. Somerset Maugham once wrote, “Beauty is an ecstasy; it
is as simple as hunger. There is really nothing more to be said
about it.”
Over the years I have created oil paintings, it gets harder
and harder to describe how and why I do this extraordinary
thing called art. I do know that Maugham is right; beauty is a
simple ecstasy that defies description. Chasing beauty’s
many transformations is simply my life’s work.
So I will let these paintings of mine speak to you of their
own volition. Perhaps in them you will see some beauty in your
particular flavor. Click on the gallery link above and enjoy
the ride.
And consider that commissioning artwork is an excellent way to
own an oil painting of your choosing. Gallery 3 exhibits a
number of portraits and figures commissioned by my patrons,
some residing well beyond my hometown of Bend, Oregon.
Commissioning a portrait is a simple process. Just send your
inquiries through the contact link above, and I will provide
all the information you need to own an original oil painting of
a subject close to your heart.
Enjoy your tour.
