When you need to get away to the sunny side of the mountains, or when you hear the fish calling your name, this is where you need to be. Located just over two hours East of Portland, or two hours North of Bend, in Maupin, Oregon, our unique lodge is just the place for you.We are located in a picture perfect setting on the Deschutes River. Excellence is our trademark. You will enjoy your stay in one of our uniquely decorated theme rooms of Oregon. After an exciting day of whitewater rafting or world famous fly-fishing, you will experience our incredible Imperial Desert Cuisine in our restaurant.Of course the Deschutes River will have water this summer! When we have a drought or low snow pack in the Cascades many of the rivers and streams are directly affected. Watersheds that are fed by snow melt will not run as full, or last as late into the summer as in a year with more snow pack and rainfall. The Lower Deschutes is an exception. The Lower Deschutes has a very large component of its flow that comes from spring water. The continuous flow of water directly from the ground keeps the Lower Deschutes flowing year round at essentially the same water level. The dams upriver also are required to release a certain amount of water into the river to maintain Lower Deschutes River flows. What does all of this mean? Plenty of water for fishing and floating. So plan on coming to Maupin where the water always is flowing. |
