Entre Prises was founded in France by Francois
Savigny, an industrial engineer and rock climber, in
1983. Initially, the product was a selection of modular
holds made of resinous concrete, the first commercially
marketed climbing holds in the world! A few years later
Savigny introduced his first panel system, called
Profile. With these products, Savigny ushered in the era
of modular, artificial rock climbing walls.
Francois had a dream of creating an international
company. While visiting Bend, Oregon and climbing at
Smith Rock in 1988, his dream became a reality. Francois
teamed up with several prominent American climbers and Entre
Prises USA was born.
In 1999 the U.S. management team purchashed 100% of Entre
Prises USA. The U.S. division is an intregal component of
the international Entre Prises company. Through shared
technologies and cooperation the international aspect of Entre
Prises remains the driving force to the success of all of the
divisions.
