First Ascent Climbing Services, inc. is an AMGA accredited climbing school. Carol Simpson and John Pinckney are the owner/operators of First Ascent. They are both seasoned, technical climbers having completed AMGA rock guide courses, along with significant climbing and guiding experience. First Ascent guides must meet extremely strict requirements, including medical training, and regularly scheduled, rigorous guide training programs in order to be on the team. The entire staff is responsible for First Ascent being central Oregon’s largest and finest guide service.
