About Designs for Living

For almost 25 years C. Lyle Scott has been designing comfortable homes for a diverse clientele. Now located in Central Oregon, Designs For Living is a top firm in one of the fastest growing counties in the United States. Our focus is in the Craftsman and Prairie styles.

We are seated on the Architectural Review Committees for Ridgewater II and with Goldencrest Development in Bend, and Canyon Rim Village in Redmond.

We design plans to meet and exceed the International Residential Code (IRC).

For our web clients, we offer four different services.

Stock Plans – We offer home plans that we can say are truly unique. Many local real estate agents know our homes on sight, and can tell that a home is a Designs For Living plan when they see it. You can purchase a project set and have it quickly shipped to you.

Modified Stock Plans – many people want to add a bit of their own personality to a design or shape it in some way based on their experiences and lifestyle. All plans can be modified, though some lend themselves to easier modifications than others. Just let us know, in detail, what you’re thinking and we can quickly let you know if it’s workable and quote you a price. Fees are based on scope of work and are in addition to the base stock plan fee.

Custom Designs – Unique pieces of property, with unique views and site conditions, call for a unique plan. If your time and budget allows, we can design your home for you.

Sub-division Planning – Not only can we help builders establish a style and consistency for their single residence and multi-family neighborhoods, but we can discount our stock plan prices and negotiate a payment schedule for your project!
