TECHNOLOGY AND TRADITION, Together on
the Water. Born on the island of Oahu and
located in Bend, Oregon for over 12 years, KIALOA paddles grew
out of our love for the sport of outrigger racing. Driven by
the need for performance equipment and the desire to build the
best paddles in the world, we began blending Hawaiian
craftsmanship with modern technology and produced handcrafted
wooden canoe paddles.
As the demands for lighter equipment arose, we responded by developing the Hybrid canoe paddle- a paddle that consists of a wood shaft, and a wood core with a molded carbon fiber blade. The overwhelming success of the Hybrid paddle has resulted in our offering a full line of composite paddles to complement our historic line of all wood paddles.
Although KIALOA has grown since Dave Chun began building paddles on his parent's lanai, all of our paddles are still built by hand with complete attention to detail and obsession with quality materials and construction. Our commitment: To combine the best of old world quality with new world innovation bringing you performance equipment that resonates with the energy of the human hand.
