Our equipment is born out of respect for the sport we love, rock climbing.  For the climber, danger and fear are ever-present and undeniable.  A true sport, rock climbing means you have everything to lose at any given moment and absolutely nothing to gain . . .  except for that indescribable feeling of "being" that every climber knows all too well.

As equipment designers and manufacturers, our role in the sport is clear:  to make the gear safer . . . and better.

The challenge here is to make equipment that is safer by design.  This means our gear must have safety built into it, not just added on or covered only by warning labels.  Designed safety not only enhances the performance of the equipment, but actually IS the performance of the equipment.  After all, the only reason to carry all this gear with you is to keep you safe in the event of a fall or accident.  Creating equipment to fulfill this promise is what Metolius is all about.
